Since 1987, Parkaire Consultants, Inc. has provided comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for children, adolescents and adults needing therapeutic intervention. Coordination of services allows for an integrated program of treatment in one convenient location.
Our team includes Psychologists, Counselors, Social Workers, Marriage & Family Therapists ADD, life and career coaches, educational consultants, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, tutors, academic therapist, and more. What is commonly known in one profession may be unknown to another, so our team cooperates to provide the most appropriate treatment plans for our clients. Our professional consultants bring extensive expertise to each problem. Parkaire’s multi-disciplinary team assists in designing individual solutions customized for each client.
Parkaire Consultants’ uniqueness is its integrated team approach. The first step is a clinical screening in which Sheryl K. Pruitt, M.Ed., ET/P, Clinical Director, or Davis Vaughn, LCSW, talks to the clients and asks questions to determine whether there are known and/or suspected neurological disorders in the client’s family. This screening is a service that would be sensitive to:
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Tourette Syndrome (TS) and other tic disorders
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and other Compulsive Disorders
- Anxiety Disorders
- Mood Disorders such as Major Depressive Disorder and Bipolar Disorder
- Sensory Integration Dysfunction
- Sleep Disturbances
- Executive Dysfunction (EDF)
- Memory Disorders such as Working Memory Disorder
- Graphomotor Disorder, (handwriting disorder)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Speech and Language Disorders
- Learning Disabilities (LD)
- Academic weaknesses
- Underachievement
- Behavior problems
- Dyslexia
An example of Parkaire Consultants’ integrated team approach is professional rounds. Every Wednesday, the Parkaire team meets for two hours to discuss cases in order to make sure we meet the needs of our clients. This enables the team to develop a specific intervention plan. Our professionals prioritize the needs of each family so that money and time are considered. The group may decide that one service should wait until another service has been completed, or one clinician may split an hour with another service provider.
Another unique service is our emphasis on clients receiving extensive medical education about their neurological disorders. This is done through colorful, high interest PowerPoint presentations geared specifically to the disorders, the age, and the level of knowledge of each client.
An additional service that makes Parkaire’s professionals outstanding is their ability to synthesize information in a way that leads to effective and efficient interventions targeted to meet the unique needs of our clients.
Our best service is being a large group of well-trained professionals who care a great deal about their clients.
