Patty Crawford, Ph.D.

Dr. Crawford received her Doctorate of Education from the University of Virginia in May of 2000.  She has taught children and adolescents with special needs for 20 years. Dr. Crawford has taught in the private and public sectors, grades kindergarten through high school.  She specializes in working with students who have been diagnosed with emotional/behavior disorders, learning disabilities, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Autism, Down Syndrome, neurological disorders, and physical disabilities.  She has taught graduate courses at the university level, where she provided professional seminars on assessment, behavior management, diversity and psychology, and the nature and needs of students with disabilities.

Dr. Crawford has spoken locally and nationally on topics related to learning disabilities, behavior disorders, and the resiliency of students with disabilities.  She advises individuals and families of children or adolescents with disabilities on the impact and management of learning and behavioral disorders.

Dr. Crawford draws from her years of educational and professional experience as well as her own experience as an individual with a neurological disorder in working with individuals with disabilities and their families.
