Career Services Director

Charlotte is a Nationally Certified Professional Counselor with 20+ years experience in Career Services, Higher Education, Job Lead Development, and Supported Employment with extensive experience providing Career Transition Services to individuals and groups. Charlotte’s expertise includes working with adults from diverse cultures, educational backgrounds, business, corporate, and the non-profit sector. Charlotte specializes in providing services to adults with “Special Needs”.

Charlotte’s career path includes 15 years at Southern Polytechnic State University as a Career Counselorand Director of Disability and International Student Services. After leaving academia, Charlotte joined the Not-for-Profit world working at JF&CS as a Career Counselor/Employment Specialist providing career services to individuals and groups. Charlotte continues to facilitate the “Mastering Executive Job Change Senior Executive Forum” targeted at the 40+ Professional.

Currently, Charlotte is on staff at Parkaire Consultants, Inc. providing comprehensive Career Services and Counseling services to individuals and adults with special needs, including neurological disorders. Charlotte co-facilitates the “Mother’s Group” at Parkaire with Sherry Pruitt. Charlotte serves as a Career Management Consultant with Right Management, the largest out-placement services firm with 300+ offices worldwide. Charlotte facilitates career transition workshops helping adults put their future in focus. Topics include Resume Basics/Editing, Career Assessment, Developing A Self-Marketing Plan, The Power of Networking, Interviewing & Negotiation Strategies, Making Age Your Asset. Charlotte provides “supported employment” and job coaching to clients served by Briggs and Associates.

Charlotte received her Master’s Degree in “Counseling & Psychological Services” from Georgia State University with a specialty in Rehabilitation and a B.S. undergraduate degree in sociology and psychology from the University of Memphis. Charlotte serves on the Boards of the Georgia Career Development Association and the Georgia Center for Non-Profits.

Charlotte is a native of Pensacola, Florida and the proud mother of two adult sons and twin grandchildren. She is an avid swimmer, walker, and loves to travel. Charlotte’s strengths include her interpersonal relationship and communication skills, networking abilities, resourcefulness, and her ability to help individuals focus on their assets, strengths, and passions.
