Social Skills For Success: High School Group for Boys (Cognitive/Developmental Deficit) Information

Who: Led by Mary Jane Trotti and Jim Trotti

What: A high school social skills group for male adolescents with mild cognitive/developmental disabilities

When: Thursday evenings, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Where: Parkaire Consultants, Inc.

Why: This group is intended to provide direct instruction in social skills for students with social deficits.  This group serves students with mild developmental disabilities and cognitive deficits.  The group increases students’ pragmatic language through the use of role plays, scripts, and guided interaction with other students.  Outdoor activities and games are held as weather permits.  Most importantly, the group is a friendship group and helps students learn how to make and keep friends.

Cost: $800 for a 14-week session.

There are two sessions during the school year.  A fall session begins in August and runs through early December.  A winter/spring session begins in January and runs until early May. A summer session will be held, but dates are pending – so please call for more information. There is ongoing enrollment until groups are filled.

If you think you would benefit from attending this group, please contact Mary Jane Trotti at 770-578-1519, ext. 112 to register.
