Mother’s Group Information
Who: Led by Sheryl K. Pruitt, M.Ed., ET/P and Charlotte Janis, M.Ed., NCC, CDMS
What: A therapeutic group for mothers of children with neurological impairments, e.g. ADHD, Tourette syndrome, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, etc.
When: Tuesday mornings, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Where: Parkaire Consultants, Inc.
Why: Raising children with neurological impairments has a unique set of challenges that require more specialized techniques than can be found in mainstream parenting resources. Gathering a wider variety of strategies will allow mothers to regain the control and expertise that they need to implement in the home. Having the support of other mothers going through similar experiences helps you to deal with the emotional rollercoaster that accompanies parenting children with these disorders.
Cost: The cost for Mother’s Group is $65 per session, and we ask that mothers commit to attending sessions at least twice per month in order to provide meaningful and supportive feedback to the group.
